Hey Bloggers, glad you're checking out this site. I'm Horace Roxborough, the band leader and lead singer for SRB. My good friend Brent Caldwell turned me on to blog. Pretty cool stuff. Brent along with 190 other people came out to the Rainbow Bistro on January 27, 2005 for the debut performance of the Soul Review Board. The energy was great, the audience was great, and overall the evening was a success. SRB is a special kind of band because the focus of this project is to bring to an audience a world class performance that as far as I'm concerned should be the goal of any band that portrays themselves in that light. What I mean is, if you get a band together to play around town, have some fun, and make a little coin, that's cool. But when you claim to be the greatest thing since the microwave, then you better bring it! What I love about this band is that to make this work right, egos need to be left at the door. That way if something doesn't sound right we have ten pairs of ears breaking it down. Believe me, even though I'm the so called band leader, there is more than enough talent in SRB to call me on my own crap. I love it!
Over the next couple of months there'll be lots of fresh news to share. Our bid for this year's 2005 Ottawa Bluesfest is in. Looks good. We'll keep you posted. In the month of March we'll be heading into the studio to record demo material for you to check out. We'll also post any other up-coming engagements. Please feel free to post comments or questions. That's all for now.
