Artist of The Month André Ferraton
As a child, André Ferraton was constantly surrounded by music. If he wasn’t singing along to his mother’s old records, he was attending concert after concert of various genres of music. From rock and pop to blues and R&B, to funk and soul. He loved it all. In his teens Ferraton began to study drums and joined various bands. After years of playing and recording in a variety of styles, he took a break to focus on his family and alternate career. But the music bug that infected him as a child would once again has liberated his soul. With more free time over these last few years, Ferraton has had the opportunity to get back into the music scene. Over the course of his music career Ferraton’s versatility shines through with his list of projects: Midnite Sun, Stone Crazy Blues Band, Northern Express, Back Alley John, Drew Nelson, Andrea and the Fun guys, The Bird, The Broke and Hungry Band, Kashmir, Karo, Dopengad, The Caddillacs, The Legend Band, Dusty Roads, George Turcotte, and The Songs Remain the Same. Ferraton is quoted as saying, " I’ve always had an appreciation for different types of music but the Soul Review Board plays soul and funk that is just a hoot for the drummer. The grooves are huge and the vibe from the audience feeds the musicians. We are definitely having a good time! "
